Online dating ... the modern paradox.

Anyone who says online dating is painless and easy has obviously never tried it; filtering through potential daters’ profiles, flirts, emails while flirting with perfect strangers via IM, things can get a little hairy.
On the plus side, you’ve got hundreds of possible love interests right at your fingertips.
Now real life dating has never been an easy task: the first date makes you feel awkward; the second is usually very much anticipated and then the dates after the first present thousands of opportunities for mistakes, missteps and blunders.
Online dating is no easier.
Between the slew of profiles, mails, random propositions and dodging the all to familiar verbal abuse can make your head spin.
So here are my Do's & Dont's??
1. Have FUN … It can be scary putting yourself & (your naked body) on display to be appreciated or judged but if you're having fun then you will attract like minded fun individuals.
2. Be interested and interesting. Ask questions, pay attention to details, be an attentive listener, etc.
In case you are not interested tell them politely & directly, lying in this situation because you are scared or uncomfortable to tell the truth is selfish.
3. Stay positive, even if the encounter is not what you were expecting.
4. Accept a complement graciously, if you don't think your funny, attractive or interesting no one else will, but humility is attractive so beware overconfidence & arrogance are never attractive qualities.
5. Successful online dating requires time, creativity and energy, find interesting ways to keep your "dates" unique.
6. Be proactive in your search for the man or a woman of your dreams, or lover, don't just wait for them to pursue you, let them know you are interested in them too.
7. Be truthful & gentle … Dishonesty is counter productive in finding a "lover or partner" but remember just because you're being honest doesn't mean your need to hurt someone, so tread carefully … everyone has feelings.
Online dating is a modern paradox so treat it with respect.
