Preposition or proposition

When greeting someone who inquires, we all to often will say that we are doing good. This use of the word good is incorrect grammar since good is an adjective, (a noun in some cases) and adjectives cannot modify a verb. More correctly well, which is an adverb will modify the verb doing, and suit the situation well.
Just like you, I never bother with this grammar stuff, or promumcimations for that matter. Never the less every time I would use incorrect grammar in response to someones greeting by saying that I am doing good, I would feel like, like well I was less than a gentleman and scholar. Try as I might I could not break myself of the habit of saying I was doing good, instead of doing well.
The solution: Mary (not her real name) was this young lady in one of my classes at college and she was quite attractive. Well Marys last name was Good, and you can tell where I am going with this. I could correct my grammar by turning good the adjective into the noun Good, then doing could modify it, yeah.
Well things never got off the ground between Mary and I. My grammar is still atrocious, so I guess its just another story of unrequited love, either that or bad habits are hard to break.

Swami,

Thanks for my own special blog post. I am flattened!

In keeping with the sex subject matter of my blogs this is my take on this blog:

A preposition is simply a PREposition that I am often made to assume when I am tied up BEFORE sex and penetration.

Of propositions - I've had a few ...

And here's a suggestion for doing Good. In some cultures, notably the South Pacific ployglot, a "Mary" is a female. A "good" Mary is you know ... "She's a good Mary ..." meaning she does not fuck around.

The mental stretch from classroom to South Pacific is not too difficult - so keep the Mary silent and just keep saying - "I'm doing good [Mary] " which is what a South Pacific Kanaka would be saying if HE was silently screwing around the nice islands girls.

Cheers
